A few weeks ago I publicly proclaimed that I was going to give up drinking for the month of July. Then I fucked up and drank a few days later. So, I amended my rule and pledged to give up drinking while at home. Considering that I drink at home almost every day, this is no small thing. Maybe I’ll have white wine with dinner, maybe I’ll have vodka with lemonade while I’m watching Dr. Phil in the afternoon, maybe I’ll have tequila while I watch some bullshit on Bravo, maybe I’ll have a beer while I chat with my best friend Jenna over the phone—that shit adds up!
You will be pleased to know that I’ve been sticking to my new rule. It’s great. I’m cutting down on my processed sugar intake (which prompted this all to happen) and it’s nice to not wake up thirsty and slightly hungover on the reg. My mind feels sharper and I think I might’ve lost a few pounds. I can’t really tell and I think scales are stupid so I’m just guessing about the weight loss.
This is probably the most boring update of all time, but I wanted to keep you all posted with this little experiment I’m doing!
